Ingredients:
- ½ kg basmati rice soaked
- 20-30 pieces of prawns
- ½ inch ginger
- 6-7 cloves ( lavang)
- Garlic 15-20 cloves
- 6-5 green chilies
- 2-3 bay leaves ( Tej Patta )
- 2 teaspoon coriander seeds
- ½ teaspoon cumin (jeera)
- 3-4 big cinnamon sticks (dalchini)
- 2 onions medium chopped
- 2 tomatoes finely chopped
- ½ cup Coriander for Masala
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- 1 tablespoon red chilies powder
- Salt to taste
Method:
Step 1:
Grind together green chilies, ginger, garlic, cloves, cinnamon, coriander seeds, coriander leaves by adding a little water in a mixer and create smooth paste.

Step 2:
Heat oil in a non-stick pan and add ½ teaspoon cumin (jeera), bay leaves (tej Patta), turmeric, red chili powder and onion. Cook till onion turns light brown.
Step 3:
Then add finely chopped tomatoes and mix well after adding the masala paste to the pan that we just prepared.
Step 4:
Add prawn pieces to the pan and add salt, mix it well with the paste. Make sure that masala coats the prawns evenly.
Step 5:
Then add rice and 3 cups of water in the pan and mix well.
Step 6:
Cover and cook till rice is done, 20-25 mins.
Then switch off the heat once rice is cooked.
Let it settle for a few mins. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
